BACKGROUND INFORMATION

"Raiders Lead The Way"

The Raider Unit is the PT or "Physical Training" Unit of JROTC. We meet three times a week at school, and drill in various activities, whether they be physical or drill and ceremonies. To become a Raider, a Cadet must pledge in their Freshman or Sophomore year, and complete a pledge period where they are drilled and participate in PT tests. The Raider Unit is moderated by Major Ronald Grandel (U.S. Army, Retired), the SAI (Senior Army Instructor) of Xavier High School. If you'd like to see the Raider Unit in action, watch the New York City Columbus and St. Patrick's Day Parades, the Raider Unit marches in both parades along with the rest of the Xavier High School Regiment.
